Work methods:

This interactive training is oriented toward real skill building. It combines theoretical material with simulations, case-studies and real-life problem solving. Motivation, delegation and other communication-based skills are developed through role playing in small groups. Immediate peer feedback allows you and other participants to stay on the right track. Of the total training time, 65% is spent on skill building.

 

Program contents:

1.     Model of people management.

  • Basic principles of successful management. Experience and beliefs of efficient managers. Current management skills assessment. Systemic view of practical management.
  • Difference between leadership and management. What is an efficient manager?   The manager’s role in the company’s development.
  • Thinking habits of an effective manager. Self-awareness. Positive attitude. Criticism acceptance methods. Attitude toward failure. Efficient problem-solving. Systematic, strategic, creative, and intuitive thinking, as well as a thinking methodology for dealing with “difficult questions”. 

2.     Main functions of an efficient manager.

  • Goals. Basics of efficient goal setting. Personal goals and goals for employees. How to make employees understand the company’s mission. Activities planning and strategic planning.
  • Delegation. What can be lost without delegating. How to delegate efficiently. Rules of successful delegation. Choosing the appropriate person for delegation. Tasks that should be delegated and tasks that should not be delegated.
  • Control. Main principles of control. What can happen if the control is not executed properly? Methods of efficient employee control.

3.     Motivating for success.

  • Difference between “motivation” and “motivating”. How to make employees proud of their company. Employee motivation as the key factor in the company’s successful functioning. Choice of appropriate motivation methods.
  • Non-material motivation of employees. How to identify the employee’s values and individual motivation criteria, and how to employ them to motivate employees.
  • Psychological types. Meta-programs of motivation – components forming various personality types. How to identify those types and best employ them to motivate people. Efficient hiring based on a meta-program system. Conduct of hiring interviews. Motivating by using the company’s mission, vision and long-term goals. How to build up trust in your company. Raising employees’ assurance and enthusiasm. Quality system of the company as a motivation element.
  • Monetary motivation. Result-oriented pay systems.

4.     Situational leadership model.

  • Different styles of leadership. Task-oriented (directive) treatment and relationship-oriented (supportive) treatment. Assessment of readiness of subordinates for carrying out a particular task. Choice of leadership style according to the readiness level of a subordinate for carrying out each particular task.
  • Power, acquiring it, and its confident application. Coaching subordinates to become a team of winners.

5.     Efficient communication and persuasion techniques.

  • Building up good relations with employees. Rapport techniques. How to earn employee respect. 
  • How to communicate positive and negative feedback. The errors most frequently committed when criticizing employees. Structure of effective negative feedback. Use of praise and compliments.
  • Efficient problem solving. Collecting necessary information. Finding solutions. Preventing problems before they arise.
  • Persuasion skills. Use of positive language. Use of subordinates’ values and criteria.
  • Team building and management skills.
